Admitting Corpses into Ekiti during this Covid-19 Pandemic

Admitting Corpses into Ekiti during this Covid-19 Pandemic

 Here are the steps:

1.  Please get a death certificate indicating that the deceased  did not die from Covid-19 -  and any other relevant details.  (Note: corpses of Covid-19 deceased are NOT  allowed to be transported across borders at this time.)

2.   Bring or Scan the certificate to the Ministry of Health (eg to Commissioner for Health Dr. Mojisola Yaya Kolade on  08162961640  and/or to PS. Dr. Olomojobi on (08033881226))  Be sure that you have the original  certificate  on hand throughout the journey.

3. Also  Inform the MHHS ahead  of time  about .border port of entry into Ekiti State and day and  approximate time of day that  the hearse or ambulance will get there.

 4.  A letter will be issued by MHHs to cover the process of bringing in the corpse, and of the burial itself.  A call can be put to MHHS  from the border security  post if necessary.

5.  It is advised that Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - the free movement days under the current Guidelines - are the best days for corpse movement. The burial must follow gathering size and social distancing rules.

6.  It must be ensured  that there is no unusual convoy of vehicles and people accompanying the corpse, otherwise many of the vehicles and people  might  be turned back at the border post.

Your cooperation is highly appreciated in these unusual times.
