Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara has returned to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Dogara, who defected to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) shortly before the 2019 general elections, was led to meet President Muhmmadu Buhari at the State House on Friday by chairman of the party’s Caretaker/National Planning Committee Governor Mai Mala Buni.

The former Speaker did not speak with State House correspondents after the meeting but Buni confirmed he had rejoined the APC.

Fayose, Olujimi in war of words over alleged oath-taking

The hope of resolving the lingering crisis facing the Ekiti chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dimmed on Tuesday as ex-Governor Ayodele Fayose and former Senate Minority leader, Chief Biodun Olujimi, renewed their hostilities.

‘Amotekun will use supernatural power to combat insecurity’

Buhari mourns political associate, Isa Funtua

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu , on Monday said the President , Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), received the news of the death of his political associate, Isa Funtua , with “ deep sadness .”

A close ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Isa Funtua, is dead.

The Nation gathered he died of heart-related disease on Monday.

Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, confirmed his death.

He tweeted: ”Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un! Just heard about Mallam Ismaila Isa Funtua’s sudden death. This life! May Allah accept his soul, forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah al-Firdaus.”

The immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has apologised to Edo people for supporting Godwin Obaseki to become Governor in 2016.
