NCDC announces 562 new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 562 confirmed new cases of the deadly coronavirus pandemic, COVID-19 in the country.

According to NCDC, Nigeria now has 37,225 confirmed cases with 15,333 patients already recovered and discharged. The death toll also rose by 12 to 801 from 789 that was reported on Sunday, July 19.

In the latest figures released by the national health via its official Twitter handle late on Monday, July 20, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja overtook Lagos on the table with the most cases of 102.

Lagos that is known as the epic centre of the pandemic comes in second with 100 cases. Plateau, Kwara, and Abia recorded 52, 50, and 47 cases respectively.
