1. The General Public is hereby informed that commencing Monday 20th July 2020, the COVID-19 Taskforce will begin the enforcement of the EKITI STATE CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (PREVENTION OF INFECTION) REGULATIONS, 2020[...]
2. For the avoidance of doubt, the general public is advised to note the following provisions in the regulations:
Compulsory Wearing of Face masks
(a). All persons must wear a cloth facemask that covers the nose and mouth when in public places.
(b). No person will be allowed to use any form of public transport or enter a building premises, if they do not wear a cloth facemask.
(c). An employer must provide every employee who may come into contact with members of the public as part of their duties with a cloth face mask to cover his or her nose and mouth.
Conduct of Businesses
(a). Every Business premises, including but not limited to a supermarket, shop, grocery store, retail store or pharmacy shall:
(i). Ensure that there are no more than 10 customers inside the premises at anytime with adequate space available.
(ii). Take steps to ensure that persons queuing inside or outside the premises are able to maintain a distance of one and a half meters from each other.
(iii). Provide hand sanitizers for the use of the public and employees at the entrance of the premises
(iv). Assign in writing an employee as the compliance employee who must ensure compliance with the measures provided in paragraphs (i) –(iii) and all directives in respect of hygiene conditions and limitation
3. Any person or institution that contravenes these regulations shall be guilty of an offence and will be prosecuted by the special courts established by the State Government for this purpose.
