A presidential aspirant on the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo has mourned the demise of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi III, Alaafin of Oyo, and to commiserate with the people of Oyo state.
Prince Adebayo in its condolence message noted that he had enjoyed about three decades of friendship with the renowned traditional leader and that it was a “personal loss and national tragedy” to hear of the demise of the king after 51 years of reign on the throne.
He wrote on his verified Twitter account, “ALAAFIN ASCENDS! With a deep sense of personal loss and national tragedy, I mourn the demise of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi III, Alaafin of Oyo after 51 years of meritorious graceful reign 29 of which Baba and I shared deep paternal, philosophical and ideological chemistry.”
