NSCDC arrests illegal brothel operator in Zamfara



The Nigerian Security and Civil defence Corp has arrested one Malam Isah Ibrahim for operating an illegal brothel in Zamfara state.


The 45-year-old suspect who has been in the business for over ten years is using a house bequeathed to him by his late parents

The house is located in Ungwan Gwaza Community, behind Federal Medical Centre in Gusau, the Zamfara State Capital.

The suspect who confessed to the crime said he uses the residential apartment for these illicit activities by contracting underage girls and married women to men who patronize him.

He says he is being paid the sum of five hundred naira only from everyone that comes to patronize the ladies he harbours, while the girls are being paid the sum of two or three thousand naira after every encounter with men. The landlord of the brothel was arrested alongside three other girls he harbours in the House

The NSCDC adds that the suspect will be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction for forced labour and selling of minors for immoral purposes based on the penal code section 278, at the end of the investigations.

The Command also warn parents to be vigilant and watch their children and wards and the friends they relate with.
